This Laboratory is a campus shared facility supported by the MRSEC and the College. It reflects the theme of soft materials that is present in MRSEC. The laboratory includes the following instrumentation: Gel Permeation Chromatography System (GPC), Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Rheometer, Schlenk lines (2) for polymer synthesis (anionic, others), Zeta Potential Analyzer, Spin coater/vacuum ovens/photocrosslinker. Instrumentation also available at the UW, includes the Wide Angle and Small Angle X-ray Scattering System (WAXS, SAXS), Dynamic and Static Light Scattering, Capillary Viscometer, and an Oxygen Plasma tool. The lab hosts all of the instrumentation with the following exceptions: the WAXS and SAXS systems are located in the Materials Science Center, and the light scattering apparatus is in a separate dark room.
