The Wisconsin MRSEC runs the Advanced Materials Industrial Consortium (AMIC) to encourage and facilitate interactions between experts in advanced materials research and materials and manufacturing businesses. The consortium aims to facilitate two-way knowledge exchange that increases the impact of campus research as well as the competitiveness of Wisconsin’s industries. AMIC also participates with other groups at the university, such as College of Engineering Facilities and the Grainger Institute for Engineering.
Member benefits include networking opportunities at AMIC-sponsored events, such as the AMIC Annual Meeting, increased opportunities to provide input into research directions, including sponsoring research projects, access to shared instrumentation facilities, a student-industry Seed program, and an in-residence Industrial Fellow program.
