Facilities Days Open House 2017 is the 3rd annual showcase of core facilities within the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus with a focus on instrumentation and resources for materials research. This event is hosted by the College of Engineering Shared Facilities, the Department of Geoscience Research Facilities, and the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research & Graduate Education.
Learn about new instrumentation coming to the CoE facilities and the capabilities of instrumentation in Geosciences. Vendors will demo Focused Ion Beam-Scanning Electron Microscopy (FIB-SEM), Electron Beam Lithography (EBL), Field Emission Electron Probe Microanalysis (EPMA), Transmission Electron Microscopy Orientation Imaging, and Time-of-flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (TOF-SIMS). Attend a student research & campus facility poster session and tour CoE and Geosciences facilities.
The purpose of this event is to increase awareness of the multitude of materials research instrumentation and other resources available on campus both to maintain efficient interactions among departments as well as to increase industrial interaction with students and campus resources.
