Primary Internship Duties	Participants will conduct summer research projects in Tokyo Tech labs under the guidance of Tokyo Tech faculty. They will also enroll in one or two courses offered for the Research-oriented Program. Applicants must propose both a research project topic and a possible academic supervisor at Tokyo Tech. A list of possible host labs is available at: http://www.ipo.titech.ac.jp/summer_program_list/ Courses: B-1 (June) — Japan Studies (2 credits) B-2 (July) — Communicating Science and Engineering in Society (1 credit), and/or Survival Japanese (1 or 2 credits)
Required Qualifications	UW-Madison student with engineering or science major UW COE nomination, administered by Wisconsin MRSEC
Language Notes	Prior research experience or study of Japanese language or culture are not program requirements, but if you have prior experience please share this in your application essays.
Academic Level Requirements	Junior, Senior, postbaccalaureate

Housing Information

Tokyo Tech will assist with housing arrangements

Program Fee / Compensation

260,000JPY ($2,400 USD)

Students are responsible for their own travel, accident/liability insurance coverage and living expenses.

Academic Credit Information

An academic record containing course grades will be available. There is currently no course-equivalency agreement in place
